Forest Bathing & Digital Detox with MGP
Time & Location
About the Event
Known as shinrin yoku, forest bathing has been studied in Japan since the 1980s.
The practice is a process of relaxation as we guide you on a tour of our woodland. Notice your stress levels drop and anxiety melt away. Observe. Breathe deeply, sense the smells, noise, colours... relax. Our practice incorporates positive inspiration from all that Japan has learned over 50 years of research into this gentle, kind and nourishing tradition.
As with all our sessions, we operate a PHONE OFF policy during this hour. Ideally, switch your phone off before entering our woods and try not to switch it on again for as long as possible. Observe how you feel when you disconnect from technology.
Forest bathing benefits are now widely recognised thanks to the huge body of research from the Nippon Medical School in Tokyo which shows that time in the forest can ease our stress and worry, help us relax, reduce anxiety and blood pressure as well as refreshing and calming our minds. In Japan, people suffering from modern world stresses and fatigue are prescribed shinrin yoku to improve well-being in a natural way. Having a digital detox - regular time to decompress from our busyness and our screens is essential.
According to Ofcom smartphones are checked on average every 12 minutes. A fifth of British adults now spending more time online each week than the average time spent at work. Almost one quarter of young people now suffer screen addiction. Take time out for yourself!
As we stroll around the trees, observe your base line shift as you reconnect with yourself thanks to nature's powerful energy.
