Poetry workshop under the trees with Nadira W & MGP
Time & Location
About the Event
Our poetry workshop, a classic or modern poem is proposed for discussion as we sit under the trees absorbing the special atmosphere around the campfire.
Our poe-TREE workshops are hosted by Nadira Wallace, PhD student at the Royal Holloway, University of London and co-organiser of the Ecopoetics' seminar series 'Green Blues'. Nadira teaches us how to engage in a poetic dialogue with our natural surroundings, looking at 18th-century poems up to the present day.
Have you ever contemplated or communed with trees or nature? Sounds wacky? This is exactly why this session is on our schedule! Push your curiosity boundaries into the unknown and see what you discover.
Light refreshments provided.
We welcome suggestions for topics and ideas from you!
Combined with our Art workshop, you can take part in one or both!
Research shows that being creative can have powerful and lasting effects on health. It can help to protect against a range of mental health conditions, including managing poor mental health and aiding progress with recovery.
To encourage time away from screens, our sessions promote reduced anxiety and isolation. By generating creative dialogue we are stimulating our right brain activity, and by taking part in group discussions, we build our confidence and nurture self-esteem.
